Please give a very warm welcome to the first girl in our Meadow competition, Ika Surjosantoso from the Netherlands. Ika has been wearing a pair of Naked & Famous x Momotaro Skinny Guy jeans for exactly a year (5-6 days a week) as part of a Wear & Tear Project by Nordic Denim House in Finland. She’s an active girl and does a lot of walking, running, and biking, and she doesn’t really care about getting a little dirt on her jeans.
During one year project, she worked in a laboratory where she did some research for her final master’s thesis at the University, so chemical like acetone and hexadecane might have splashed onto the jeans. The washing history is also quite interesting; Ika experimented with soaking the jeans in green tea and coffee. After eight months she washed them regularly (once a month) at high temperature and max spin, and she didn’t turn inside out.
In total, they’ve been washed five times, plus one cold wash, two soaks with green tea and coffee, and sea soak where Ika wore the jeans at the beach, abd swam and ran in them.
