Handsewn Red Wings From Maine

Fresh new from Red Wing Shoes, just received an email from the Amsterdam office about the company’s lastest project; handsewn shoes from Maine. In case you’re wondering, Maine used to be the footwear capital of America with a rich shoemaking history that dates back to the mid 1800s. Along with the companies that supplied the materials and even invented the machines that helped make the shoes, hundreds of shoe companies were born in the rugged New England region of America. Today, only the finest workshops have survived, and they’ve done so because they make some of the highest quality footwear in the world stitched by hand.

You can read more about the project and see the full collection here.
