Get more bang for your buck with the Joe&Co. Kickstarter

With detailing and manufacturing quality normally only seen on +200 Euro Jeans, the latest Kickstarter from Joe&Co. could be just the jeans you’re looking for and at a damn good price to boot!

I know, I know. Raw denim on crowdfunding sites seems a dime a dozen these days. But every so often a campaign comes across our desks that actually offers the chance to snag some amazing garments at a great price while supporting an up and coming brand. The latest Kickstarter by Joe&Co. is one such campaign.

Been Around the Block

You see, this isn’t Joe&Co.’s first rodeo. They have been around for a good long time and they know how to make damn good jeans. We know this because we got our hands on a pair a few months ago. The JCS-COLLIER-369 RAW was the subject of our first ever Vlogged jeans review. You can check that out here.

They were damn good jeans. For the money, you get an astonishing level of quality, detail and craftsmanship. So we are pretty confident to get behind Joe and his team and give them that little shove they need to take fund the latest production run.

What’s on Offer?

Joe is offering up two different fits of jeans, a Type II style denim jacket and a belt in a couple of leather choices.

Denim in Detail

Before we get into the jeans and jackets, let’s have a look at the denim in detail.

Joe has opted for a 13.5 oz red line Zimbabwe long staple cotton from the Japanese Mill Nihon Menpu. Joe has a long-running relationship with the Nihon Menpu Mill, using this exact denim in 2008 when Joe & co. was founded. Zimbabwe Long Staple Cotton is some of the rarest and most sought-after cottons on the planet. It is grown in only a handful of farms in Zimbabwe and harvested once a year, strictly by hand. The big boys like Momotaro and Iron Heart opt for this cotton due to the long fibres and their ability to soak up the indigo like a sponge. So this denim is going to be pretty damn special.

Let’s take a look at what Joe is going to do with it!

First up we have the Arkwright. This is a mid-rise slim jean that tapers down to a 14-inch hem.

Details:

  • 13.5 oz Red line Japanese Selvedge Denim from Nihon Menpu
  • Indigo Rope dyed yarns using no sulphur in the dying process
  • Made in Northern England
  • Mid Rise
  • Slim Fit
  • Branded, antique brass doughnut buttons
  • Branded rivets,
  • Felled inner seams
  • Chain stitch hem
  • Leather doughnut washers behind the fly buttons
  • Hidden rivets
  • Heavy duty 11 oz cream pocket bags and lined back pockets
  • Selvedge detail on coin pocket
  • Chain stitch arcuate

Up Next!

The next offering is the Collier. That fit was the subject of the vlogged review, just in a different denim. Again it is a mid-rise tapered fit but the Collier has a little more room through the thigh than the Arkwright. It would be my personal preference and the fit that would suit the bodybuilders out there due to the roomier thigh.

Finally, a Denim jacket!

You guys know I have a soft spot for a denim jacket. I am delighted to see that Joe has added a denim jacket to his lineup here! He has done a few outerwear pieces in the past that I loved, but they were not denim so I am excited to see him bringing this denim that those details to a denim jacket.

The jacket in question is Joe’s take on the Type II Trucker jacket. Made in the North of England from the same 13.5 oz red line selvedge denim as the jeans.

Last but not least, the belts.

Time is Running Out!

The Kickstarter ends on the 14th f May, so that doesn’t give you a lot of time to take advantage of this great campaign. You will be getting jeans, jackets and belts with a level of craftsmanship that keeps up easily with the big boys (and in some cases, surpasses them) at a price that is eminently fair, even at the full price. But with Kickstarter, you’re getting at least 30% off the retail. I’d jump on this guys!
