Getting caught with your hand in your pants is nothing to be embarrassed about!
Today we are not going to talk about jeans. We are going to talk about what is in our jeans. No, not our wallets, keys, phones or any of the other detritus in your pockets. We’re talking testicles. Balls. Gonads. Knackers. Nuts. Family jewels. Privates. Bollocks…. etc.
You Spelled November Wrong!
There is this thing called Movember. You’ve probably already heard about it. In the month of November, men are encouraged to grow a moustache to raise awareness of a variety of men’s health issues such as testicular cancer, prostate cancer, depression or suicide.
You know these things that we men are not so good at talking about, or indeed getting checked.
Demised, passed on, ceased to be, expired and gone to meet the maker… all too soon
Keeping this stiff upper lip and schtum means that all too many of us are dying way too young from totally curable conditions.
Finger Where?!?
I know, I know. Having your balls fondled by your doctor, or a finger up the ass (its how they check for prostate cancer) or even worse… talking about our feelings is not the most comfortable thing for the vast majority of us.
But you know what’s less comfortable? Dying of cancer.
Getting Involved
So how do you get involved? Well, at the very basic level. Grow a moustache! This alone will raise awareness because you will be telling all your friends, family wives, girlfriends etc. why it is you suddenly look like an extra from Narcos.
You can take it to the next level by getting sponsored or making a donation. Through the Movember website, you can sign up to have your personal donation page where people can log on and donate for your efforts. Alongside this, there is a general donation page if you want to give a once off.
Think Big
There are plenty of other things you can do as well. Get your community involved. Get your employer involved. Organize a sporting event, a gig, fun run, dinner… whatever you can think of to raise a bit of cash and also spread the word.
Your donation will continue to fund world-class programs that are saving and improving the lives of men.
One small thing you can do all year round
Now, there is something else you can do. I am not going to go into detail, but you should – maybe in the shower, the bathtub of wherever you feel most comfortable.
Trust me. This might save your life.
