The DC4 x Fullcount Party

DC4 x Fullcount Party Rope Dye

During Berlin Fashion Week, Mikiharu Tsujita, founder of Fullcount throws a party with Berlin Denim Mecca, DC4.

Just a couple of months after the Berlin Denim Mecca, DC4 threw a party for Samurai jeans which saw the founder Nogami-San in Europe for the first time, they are back at it – this time with Fullcount.

One of the Five!

Fullcount has the distinction of being one of the Osaka 5, the Japanese denim brands that fuelled the boom in quality Japanese denim and historically accurate denim, construction and fits. Their attention to detail and love for jeans resonated with the Japanese obsession with all things Americana and the resurgence of quality denim flourished.

Doing it Differently

Founder, Mikiharu Tsujita initially started off working with another of the Oaska 5, Hidehiko Yamane of Evisu. He quickly saw the potential for a slightly different tack in his approach and stated Fullcount. He was the first to use long staple Zimbabwe cotton in his denim construction and, instead of dogged adherence emulating the styles of the past, he created jeans that focused more on everyday comfort.

Since the early days, the brand has continued to evolve, being one of the first to produce the heavier weight fabrics

Weaving Shibusa

Founder, Mikiharu Tsujita was in town, not only for the party but also for the European premiere of the Japanese denim documentary “Weaving Shibusa” where the history of Fullcount features heavily.

But back to the party. Daniel and his team threw the bash in good DC4 style with choppers, muscle cars parked up outside, drinks and food for the guests and a Pinstripe artist demonstrating his trade.

Tsujita-San arrived in good style with a Limo that looked to be right out of a 1980’s New York movie. The Limo was laid on to ferry guests from the Selvedge Run tradeshow down to the store.

The party went on into the wee hours with plenty of chat, many more beers and even some Saki to finish off a great evening.

Once again, if you are in Berlin for even the briefest of visits, then DC4 is a must see for all denim heads. Head along!
